Devizes has managed to retain a lot of individual shops and has a traditional market on Thursdays and Farmers Market on the first Saturday of the month.

In the evening you may wish to sample the locally brewed 6X at one of Devizes many hostelries or visit the Wharf Theatre or Palace Cinema. There are many events in the Town Hall or Corn Exchange. Tickets can generally be purchased from Devizes Books.
There are many local restaurants catering for all tastes and numerous pubs serving wholesome fare in the outlying villages.
Devizes Leisure Centre has comprehensive facilities including a swimming pool.

Attractions nearby:
The World Heritage site of Avebury and Silbury Hill, Wansdyke, Roundway Civil War Battle Site, Lacock including the Fox Talbot Museum and Bowood House are all within a few miles.
Attractions within short distance by bus:
Roman Bath, Stonehenge, Salisbury including cathedral, Marlborough (College and High Street). We can suggest many tours with interesting routes. The Connect bus is useful to walkers and can be pre booked.

The local area hosts many sporting activities, including: Devizes Leisure Centre and many sports clubs, eg golf, bowls, tennis and rugby football.
